Supported Independent Living

At Elanora Disability Services, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to live as independently as possible, in a home that feels safe, supportive, and empowering. Our Supported Independent Living (SIL) services are tailored for NDIS participants who require daily assistance with personal tasks while still wanting the freedom to live in their own home or a shared living arrangement.

We provide personalised, round-the-clock support that not only meets your physical and emotional needs but also encourages you to build life skills, connect with others, and thrive in your daily environment.

What is SIL?

Supported Independent Living is an NDIS support that assists participants with daily living tasks so they can live independently—usually in a shared home with other participants. While SIL covers the support services, it does not include the cost of the housing itself (which may be covered through SDA or personal funding).

What We Offer in Our SIL Services:

  • 24/7 Personalised Support
Assistance with cooking, cleaning, personal care, medication management, and other daily activities—all delivered with respect and sensitivity to your preferences.

  • Shared or Individual Living Arrangements
Choose from living independently or in a shared home with like-minded housemates. We take great care in matching individuals to create a safe, comfortable, and harmonious living environment.

  • Skill Development for Daily Living
Our support workers help you gain confidence in managing everyday tasks such as budgeting, grocery shopping, cooking, and personal hygiene—building the foundation for greater independence.

  • Social and Community Engagement
We encourage social participation, helping you stay connected with your community, build friendships, and enjoy meaningful activities.

  • Collaborative Support Planning
We work closely with you, your family, and other service providers to create a tailored support plan that evolves with your goals, health, and lifestyle.

Who is SIL For?

SIL is designed for NDIS participants with higher support needs, who require assistance with daily tasks to live independently. Participants must have SIL included in their NDIS plan under Core Supports or Supported Living.
